Hi I’m Peter Giles and this is my blog. I run digital media programs at the Australian Film TV and Radio School and sit on the board of the Sydney chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH. I’ve been in digital media education for the past ten years (at least) and in that time I’ve worked on a wide range of innovative production-based programs. In a time of such rapid media change I think education offers a huge opportunity to influence the future direction of our media industries. This blog includes changes, innovations and observations that I find insightful when thinking about the future. I often use this blog to work through my ideas or to sweep out the cobwebs so there’s space for the new stuff to take hold. It goes without saying that the thoughts I express here are my own do not necessarily reflect those of my employer.
